Cheriton Grove Apartments is a 60-unit elder housing community financed under HUD’s Section 202 program.  It is located in the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. The Community Builders, Inc. was the development consultant and has been the property manager since the development’s initial occupancy in March 1987. The property is owned by the American Arabic Benevolent Association (AABA), an organization initially formed to promote charitable, cultural and educational endeavors within the American-Arab community, and now serves the West Roxbury and Greater Boston area. AABA has a number of programs and committees to further its goals, including a created a Cheriton Grove House Committee which meets with the on-site and senior staff of The Community Builders regularly to discuss issues related to the apartment community and its residents.  At Cheriton Grove Apartments TCB’s site manager works with AABA and its Resident Services Coordinator to organize a wide array of services for its residents, including home care and VNA referrals, transportation, friendly visiting, educational programs and assistive devices for individuals with disabilities, as well as cook-outs, holiday dinners, and day trips.  AABA and TCB work together year after year to make Cheriton Grove Apartments a vibrant community where elders can lead rich lives.
