Jacques Sandberg leads a team that implements all of the The Community Builders’s real estate development activities in the Midwest region. In twenty years of planning, building, and financing public and publicly financed projects, Mr. Sandberg has been involved in the development of thousands of units of affordable housing and the construction and rehabilitation of several million square feet of mixed-use facilities. Prior to joining IFF, Mr. Sandberg was a partner in an affordable housing consulting firm and served as director of acquisitions and asset manager for one of the country’s largest low income housing tax credit syndicators. He has managed planning projects for a state planning office, overseen the operations and development of a mixed-use psychiatric, health care, and residential facility, and acted as director of facilities management for a large community development corporation.
Mr. Sandberg holds a Master of City Planning degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where the focus of his work was on urban design and real estate development, and a bachelor of arts from Grinnell College. He is currently a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago’s Community Investment Advisory Council.
