Part of the Chicago Housing Authority’s plan for neighborhood transformation and a public-private partnership led by TCB, Oakwood Shores is one of the city’s largest neighborhood revitalization projects.

The four-story building consists of over 850 rental units, 7,000 square feet of amenity space, and 3,500 square feet of street-level retail. Apartments will feature in-unit laundry, dishwashers, plank flooring, and extra storage.

An adjacent surface lot will provide 42 parking spaces for building residents and retail customers. Additional amenities include natural open spaces, parks, a charter school, and healthcare center.

Oakwood Shores’ ongoing, phased development over the last 17 years has spurred reinvestment in the surrounding Bronzeville neighborhood.

A public-private partnership between TCB and the Chicago Housing Authority, Southbridge eventually calls for up to 877 mixed-income homes, 60,000 square feet of retail space, and abundant open space.

Situated on a 11-acre site, the massive transit-oriented development is two blocks from the Cermak-McCormick Green Line station and three blocks from the Cermak-Chinatown Red Line stop.

Phase one features 206 apartments with 28 units set aside as affordable housing and 68 units reserved for CHA households. The remaining 112 apartments will be available at market rate.

The 801 Apartments, built on a long-vacant site on a key community retail block in Oak Park, provides 37 units of much-needed affordable workforce housing in a Chicago neighborhood of mostly single-family homes.

The four-story building includes 1,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, a rooftop deck and on-site parking. The location is convenient for commuters, with easy access to subway as well as bus stops – and two of the units are “live-work” spaces.
